Why have the schedules of TV shows become so irregular?
The writer strike is over, but it seems like there are big lapses in the normal schedule of primetime TV shows. Like Family guy, “New season begins,” a few episodes play, then I don’t see anything else for another month, then a new episode comes on randomly. Same thing for House, and most other stuff. Sometimes it’s because there’s some world series baseball crap coming on, but sometimes I don’t see the reason.
Back when I was younger, when a show had a schedule (like every Sunday night at 8:00), you could really count on it. Not anymore.
Sometimes it’s because of sports. Shows go on a Christmas break in December, then come back in early January.
But with Family Guy, I am surprised this season as well, because it’s airing 1 more episode this month then it’s coming back in May. That’s weird.
