Basebll the most overrated sport in the history of man kind?
Its like a big pinball machine on grass same plays over and over.how can they get injuired so easy? once in a while you see a nice dive catch but still does america live in a bubble is baseball like religion in America are you expected to play because of your fore fathers, because its American just like NASCAR. Idont get it
It’s not overrated at all. Just like anything, if you haven’t been involved in the process of doing it, you probably aren’t going to understand it. To some, baseball is throw the ball, hit the ball, catch the ball. Then do it all over again. Boring. But to others, it’s knowing that Johnny Damons’ arm is as good as my grandmothers, so if I am on second base and the ball is hit to centerfield, I can jog home because Damon isn’t going to throw me out at the plate. It’s also knowing that because of a batters swing mechanics he either pulls the ball on the ground or hits fly balls to rightfield. So I shade the infield to the left side and the outfield to the right side. It’s not a fast game, but there are so many strategical moves made during the course of the game that it makes it interesting. Sure the homerun is great but positioning your outfielder in the correct spot and having a ball hit right to him is even better.
How do they get injured? Let’s see 162 games per year. 81 of those games traveling to a different time zone. Somtimes not getting to bed until 3,4, or 5:00am after they fly from the west coast to the east coast. They usually get about 3 days off per month. On that time off they travel to see their families and friends and do things that aren’t really rest. Then they go back to playing ball. Oh yeah during that time they still have to run, lift, practice, sign autographs, pose for pictures, visit kids in the hospital, pay the bills– are you tired yet?
I don’t know what you do for a living. But, I do know this, if you only got 3 days off a month you probably wouldn’t do the job for very long.
Now, for the guy that made the comment about soccer… There is a reason whysoccer is the most popular game in the world. You can’t figure it out because you have been brainwashed by the worlds 3rd most popular sport– American footbal.
