Red Kids Baseball Socks

why do I continue to live in the past?
Ever since I was 14 (around 1981-1982ish), I have been living in my childhood. Since that time, I have not watched a current tv show or listened to a current song. I think the last show I watched which was a “current” show was back in 1982 (“Silver Spoons”) but after that I emmersed myself in 70′s tv and music from my early childhood. I am 43, married with kids, have a full time job and obviously function but I know my obsession with nostalgia is not normal. So abnormal that I cant really talk about it to anybody. For example, I don’t like sports but the only conversation I can have with someone who likes sports is about the 77-78 Yankees/Red Sox, as that was the last “current” baseball game I watched. What is wrong with me? Can I change?
You seem to find safety in yesterday. Unfortunately there is no future in yesterday.
I’d suggest you begin letting go of the absolutes found in history and encourage yourself to grow by facing things of the next moment, not moments long gone.
