Record Longest Baseball Game Mlb

Aren’t the fans the ones who are really to blame for the steroids era?
We cheered every homerun when McGwire chased Maris. We applauded when Sosa waved his American flag on the ball field. We clapped after every Clemens strikeout and celebrated his 300 plus wins. Sure, we booed Bonds (most of us anyway) for his “achievements”, but by then, it was way too late. We, for so long, ignored the warning signs, the reports and articles in the news, the unnatural changing of the players and the game, because we wanted to be entertained. And we continued to lavish the game with our attention, our money and our love. Even now, when some of the truth is known, baseball will continue to reap in record profits and break attendance records. I, myself, am guilty as charged (season ticket holder).
We can blame the players and their union and MLB for diminishing the integrity our great national pastime, and they deserve it, but shouldn’t we, as fans, also take our share of the blame?
No way… that is like blaming ourselves for the white (black) sox throwing the world series… We wanted to be entertained, yes, but steroids were not a public issue in ’98 and Clemens had been pitching since ’84. The only warning sign we had in the 90s was Jose Canseco and that was an isolated incident…
In 1987 the National Football League introduced it´s anti-steroid policy, and Major League Baseball was left as the most major sports organization in the world which still had no such policy until 1991. Baseball players weren’t tested for steroids until the spring of 2003. They were against the rules long before that.
I understand your point and yes, i feel cheated but do i take blame for it? No way… because there are still plenty of hard working players who are not juiced. MLB should of worked harder to protect the integrity of the game.
