What is the coolest piece of baseball memorabilia (conventional or otherwise) that you own?
Mine is a game used Vernon Wells wrist/sweatband. It has his number 10 on it and the Nike logo.
Three photos with Mickey Mantle and myself. Once when I was 10 years old at a spring training game in Tampa, Fl. with my dad and his best friend, Johnny Vander Meer. Yes, the same Johnny Vander Meer. The second was when I was a beat writer in Philadelphia visiting Atlantic City. I took my 10 year old photo with me and had Mantle sign it. The third was at a card show, again in Atlantic City, where I had a photo taken with Mantle of myself and my two sons. He was always kind, friendly and always had time to talk. He may have had his own problems but to me, he was a gentleman.
