Florida has been considered as the main venue for spring training. Players are professionally trained here which help them to improve their game so that they could be selected in the national league. The history of spring baseball training in Florida is more than hundred years old. An exhibition game was held here in 1908 between Cincinnati Reds and the semi-pro local team of St. Petersburg Saints. There are good facilities available here for spring season training and many players choose Florida as one of the best places for the trainings. One of the older spring training leagues in Florida is Grapefruit League. Currently in this year, 15 MLB teams took part in the Grapefruit League which is made up of teams from the east part of United States of America (USA). The setup camp of most of the team is in the cities which are situated in Florida coast Port such as St. Lucie, Viera, Dunedin etc. while few teams set up their camps in the city like Kissimmee, Lakeland etc.

For Amateur Adult Baseball, Florida ABL has organized many teams in many cities such as Miami, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Orlando, Clearwater, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, and other cities in Florida.
