Major League Baseball Uniforms History
Who will land Yu Darvish if he comes to the Majors and how good will he be?

This kid is filthy. He’s 5-1 right now in NPB. He had .706 win % for the Fighters a couple years ago when he was only 19. He’s only 22 right now. Once he matures and gets a little more mentally tough I think he could very well become the best pitcher in Major League Baseball.

I think any club with a 9 digit payroll could be in the run for him. I write off the Yankees at this point because of the money they just dropped on starting pitching. The Dodgers seem like a strong bet, especially because of the history they have with Japanese players. But I can see him in a Braves or a White Sox uniform too.
I read a fairly recent article that stated Darvish has not decisively stated his plans about coming to American. He’s keeping his mouth shut at this point. You’re not allowed to ask him about it.

First of all the question was IF HE CAME TO THE MAJOR LEAGUES. Not will he come to the Major Leagues. So here is a real answer.

I saw Yu Darvish pitch here in LA during the WBC he only pitched in relief appearances and had pretty good stuff. It was am amazing sight to see him because of all the hype and the reputation he had of being the best Japanese pitcher since Hideo Nomo. But to tell you the truth he wasn’t THAT impressive. When he pitched against USA the game was over Japan lead by about 7 and he struck out Adam Dunn(the whiff king) and David Wright. Against Korea he was a little shaky giving up a run to tie the game but he did strike out Choo of the Indians. So Japan got the lead and he got another opportunity and he closed the door by striking out 2 Korean guys with crazy names I ddon’twant to spell. He has a mid to low 90s fast ball(90-96) with a SICK/FILTHY/NASTY Slider. That is the pitch that will bring him success in the Majors if he ever comes. It is just about un-hittable wwhenhe has it going. I think he can be great if he can develop better control and a better big game mentality.

If he does come to the Major Leagues where he will likely go is to either LA, Boston, New York(Mets or Yanks), Angels, and nobody said this one but Seattle. Only big market team will haev a chance to land him and most of these teams have a history of landing Japanese teams especially LA, Boston and Seattle.

I would love to see him here in LA but I have heard that he will stay in Japan but when you have a chance to make 20 million you may change your ming and his contract will expire in Japan in 2 more years then he may change his mind. Maybe
