Licensed MLB patch + my blank sweatshirt = Okay to sell?
I’ve got some licensed Major League Baseball embroidered patches featuring a team’s logo. If I sew those patches onto a blank sweatshirt, and then I proceed to offer that sweatshirt for sale (using eBay), does this violate any sort of trademark law?
Nope.
It would be illegal for you to create your own logo, though. You have physical property, you can do whatever you want with it.
It wouldn’t be any different than selling just the patches, or just the shirts.
