PostHeaderIcon Espn Fantasy Baseball Draft Rankings

Fantasy Baseball – NL only league – What pitchers should I target in the draft/which are undervalued?

I know the top 5 pitchers will all be solid, but which pitchers are undervalued by ESPN rankings and which should be targeted to draft? It would be great to find this years Lincecum.

Whoever puts the most players (and I agree with) gets best answer.

Thanks!

If youre talking NL only, I have 5 great candidates. In no order…

1) Adam Wainwright (STL – SP) doesn’t have overpowering stuff ut he had a 3.20 era and only threw 132 innings earning 11 wins. He’s 28 years old which is around when pitchers get their prime.

2) Clayton Kershaw (LAD – SP) is very young and could be a little bit shaky but will have great draft value. He has an 8.46 K/9 inning ratio and with the addition of Orlando Hudson and Rafael Furcal coming back from injury, he’ll get the support he needs.

3) Max Scherzer (ARI – SP, RP) threw more than one strikeout per inning. He had a 3.05 era last year and will be the fifth spot in the Diamondback rotation. He also has RP eligibility, which helps too.

4) Heath Bell (SD – RP) will finally get the closing role he’s been wanting. He’ll have great draft value and will have great support around him.

5) Chris Carpenter (STL – SP) had an injury tha kept him off the field for nearly the entire season. He had dominating stuff a few years back and it wouldn’t surprise me if he came right out of the gate this year and have a great season.

Five guys in no particular order that, in my opinion, are often overlooked.
