Does anyone know how to calculate a magic number in baseball? (too difficult)?

Here’s an example:

Team A is leading the division while Team B is behind.

If team A wins and Team B loses, the number would go down by 2.

If Team A loses and Team B loses, magic number goes down by 1.

If both teams wins the same day, magic number goes down by 1.

If Team A lose and Team B wins, magic number stays the same.
