Baseball Players On The Rise in November
A momentary look at the universe of Baseball cards in the past two months shows some appealing players rising up the charts in the baseball card universe. America’s pastime may be on a winter break, but true baseball card collector’s never rest. Bear in mind that we don’t create the prices. We simply recount them. Having said that, here are a seven players whose card values have gone up during November as reported by THE expert on sports cards in this universe, Beckett Publications.
-David Robertson, this 24 year old right hander from a pitching plentiful Crimson Tide baseball program looks to be a crucial player in the New York Yankees bullpen this spring. As with any Yankee rookie, Yankee thrower, or Yankee in general. Prices will increase with the slightest indication of ability
-Josh Hamilton, long underappreciated, the slugging Ranger was the feel good story of the year of few years ago. However, he plays in one of the most horrible markets in baseball (not to rob the Florida Marlins thunder). However, some must be taking note of the fact that he is well again. It would probably be a good idea for you to take note of that also. When this kid is strong, there are very few better hitters than him. BUY BUY BUY!
-Fu-Te Ni, yep, you read that right, Fu-Te Ni The Tigers Right hander appeared in 30+ games last year and was just about the Single shining star in the last month of the season for the wavering Tigers. His ERA of 2.34 and .187 batting average against shows that he can get it done in the bigs.
SPECIAL NOTE: For those of you that like to purchase cards, stow them for a bit, and sell them when a player gets hot to make a profit, start buying Fu-Te Ni cards. Why? Because the past repeats itself! Asian star pitchers historically come to America and mow down American hitters for one, and rarely, two seasons. That is usually followed by some quality time in mid relief and filling out the hind end of a rotation. See also, Byun Yung Kim, Hideki Irabu, Hideo Nomo, Chan Ho Park, and shortly to follow Dice K. HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF! (so buy now, and sell in about a year) Where else can you get a 50-75% ROI in 9 months?
-Cheng-Min Peng, four straight batting titles in the Chinese Professional Baseball Leagues. He holds the all time record in Chinese Professional Baseball for batting average in a season with a .391 average. Expect Peng to jump across the pond in the extremely near future. Until then, you’ll have to be contented with his World Baseball Classic cards
-David Price, he erupt on to the seen, number one choice, big promise and a brief example of his abilities in a half dozen games back in 2008. 2009, many don’t understand, was a very quality year for him as well. STAT OF THE DAY…GET READY FOR IT…..David Price was 10-7 in 2009. In the 7 games he lost, his run support was horrifying, with his teammates providing an average of two runs per game in those seven losses. Additionally, in five of those losses, he pitched his team into the sixth inning. Give the guy a few RUNS already! Thank goodness collectors see his importance!
-Travis Snider, the former first round pick of the Blue Jays is a flat out stud. His numbers in the majors have improved as he gets more chances. Snider’s future has been delicately groomed as the Blue Jays brought him along slowly to aid his transition to the Big Show. He was a fiend at triple A Las Vegas hitting one home run every 12 at bats. Hit in the mid .300′s while at Vegas and absolutely crushed lefties with a .400 BA against.
As earlier affirmed, we don’t craft the prices, we just convey them. So, here they are! Six players that improved in value according to Beckett Media during the month of November.
