During what year(s) was Shea Stadium’s exterior painted blue, and when were the neon signs were added???
Also I heard that neon Lights were added sometime after its new paint job. According to Wikipedia:
“After the Jets left, Shea Stadium’s exterior was painted blue, and neon signs of baseball player silhouettes were added to the windscreens between 1986 and 1988.”
I think the stadium was painted blue by ’87, cause I’ve seen videos of Shea’s interior being blue as opposed to the ’86 videos, when they were still white. But I also heard neon lights were added later on. Can anyone tell me when Shea was acatually painted blue, and when the neon signs were added on? — I’m so curious!!!

It was painted blue in 1980 and the neon signs were added in the late 80′s. I think those dates (1986 and 1988) are correct. I don’t know about those videos in 1986, because two websites said that in 1980 Shea was remodeled, they painted the exterior of the stadium blue, and made the seats blue and orange. It sound right too because that is a few years after the NY Jets moved to their own stadium.
