The name “Babe Ruth” makes you think of baseball instantly. How many other names make you think of baseball?
After the Babe I would include not in any order Joe DiMaggio (when he died he had been out of baseball for 50 years) ,
Ted Williams, Ty Cobb, Jackie Robinson, Lou Gehrig, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Leo Durocher, Stan Musial, Pete Rose, & a few others. The recent crop of sluggers like Mark, Sammy, & Barry will probably not be as memorable in 50 years. I realize that this is a subjective list.
JACKIE ROBINSON, SAMMY SOSA, BARRY BONDS, AROD, PETE ROSE, HANK ARRON, JOHNNY BENCH, HONUS WAGNER, CY YOUNG, AND MARK MCGWIRE.
