You are still a bit young to start weight training. I would hold off on the weights until you are 16 if possible. Keep growing, your height will come in handy when you get older. Eat properly. Never to early to start on a good meal plan. Protein shakes after practice/mini-workouts are a good idea. I would suggest doing push ups, crunches, and pull-ups. They work your overall upper body, and will aid in preparing you for lifting heavier weights when you get older. Yes, your core is very important, as your hips do alot of the work in hitting (which I am sure you knew already). So, be sure to concentrate on creating a solid foundation by creating a strong core workout. Work on your sprinting, especially your 60 yard dash times (scouts look for that sort of stuff). Speed is a big part of the high school game as well, and the more you can do the better off you will be. Most of all, don’t get burnt out. If you feel like you are getting burnt out on baseball, take a break for a while. Have fun man!
