Even without the steroids, Bonds’ record won’t mean anything?

Forget about the fact that Bond’s probably got a 200-300 homer boost by the steroids. All the rule changes to boost offense in baseball have rendered the home run record obsolete anyway. The tiny strike-zone, the lower mound, the little league sized ballparks, the livelier ball, etc. make the record a mute point. We all know that even with the steroids, Bonds isn’t the player Aaron was, and not even half the player Ruth was. So I say, “Smack away Bonds – they don’t matter anyway!”
The fact that Ruth didn’t face many relief pitchers is easily off-set by the fact that so much expansion has watered down the talent pool today.
