Markwort Speed Sensor Radar baseball?

I am thinking about getting the Markwort Speed Sensor Radar Baseball. The thing is that it says that it gives the speed once it hits the catcher’s mit. The problem is I don’t have anyone to catch my fastball. If I throw the ball at a net, will that work?

Well, it is my guess that on impact, the LCD indicator displays the speed – if that is true.. then a wall or hard object that the ball hits would have a better chance of giving you an accurate reading than a net that has some “give” when it comes in contact with the ball
