HELP! Lesson plan for 3rd grade baseball and math?

Doing a lesson plan for 3rd grade that involves baseball and math and I have to have an award winning book for the lesson. I am doing the lesson on calculating the area of a diamond…starting with a 3×3 square and moving up with it. My professor is crazy and I have to have literature tied in with the lesson, hence the award winning book.

Do you know of any books? It doesn’t have to be any kind of specific award, just has to be some sort of award winner.

I hope someone can help me.
