Anyone good with Algebra?
I need help with this word problem.
“You order baseball caps with your team logo. Each cap costs $9.95. There is a design fee of $60.00 and an embroidery charge of $1.50 per cap. Write an expression to find the total cost of c baseball caps. What is the total cost for 20 baseball caps? for 45 base ball caps?”
I’ve never been good with these types of things. and can you show the work, too, please? that would most helpful. (: Thank you!
Well, the total for buying one cap (not including the design fee) is $9.95 + $1.50 = $11.45
So, when you buy c caps, that would cost $11.45 * c PLUS the design fee.
That gives the equation (without the $) y = 11.45 * c + 60
To find out what 20 caps would cost, simply put in 20 for c, so
11.45 * 20 + 60 = 289
Same for 45 caps
11.45 * 45 + 60 = 575,25
