Run old games on new Windows-7 CPU?
I was trying to re-live my childhood and bought Backyard Baseball from 1999. When I put it in and clicked run I got the following message
“The program or feature “??D:baseball.exe” cannot start or run due to incompatibity with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit WIndows compatible version is available.”
Is there anything I can do? I run windows 7 professional on a Lenovo Thinkpad SL-410
Sorry, no. There is no compatibility mode for a 32 or even 16 bit in this case (given the era it may be 16 bit), application to run in 64 bit. CPU is irrelavent.
Obviously this game is either 16 bit or using 32 bit memory access calls which is not compatible in the 64 bit environment.
