why does baseball call the position manager when the other three big sports have coaches.?
(Obviously I am aware that baseball has coaches as well, but it is a lesser position to the manager.)
Don’t these guys have the same tasks at hand; Game plans, lineups, strategy, player substitutions, conferring with officials, etc.
He manages the other coaches and strategizes for the game…he’s the only person you’ll see conferring with the officials and I imagine he has the final say regarding lineups and player changes..
