Why is Alex Rodriguez still allowed to play baseball?

When an Olympic star is caught using Steroids, they are stripped of their medal. Why is Alex Rodriguez still playing baseball, and why isn’t everyone upset about it? He’s a cheater. From what I understand he used for 2 years.
So what… Lets clean up the cheaters. This guys a cheater and he’s a hero? What message are we teaching our children? Its okay to cheat. as long as you omit to it after your caught??? Wow, that sucks.
My point is they should all go…. There are plenty of young stars that can take their place.

MLB, like all other “professional” sports, is about 1 thing and 1 thing only……..

$$$ MONEY $$$

Take away the douchebags that juiced and you take away the “celebrities” that put butts in seats.

This reverential, well-crafted 1951 biopic starring the hulky Burt Lancaster as Native American Olympian Thorpe is hardly the definitive word on one of our greatest track stars, but it does remind us how unfair and demeaning it once was for athletes of color. Concentrating on Thorpe’s track and football victories (he also excelled at boxing, swimming, and golf), director Michael Curtiz and screenw…

In recent centuries the British government has bestowed a wide range of awars, from the OBE to campaign medals such as the 1914 Star. This system presents great opportunities for historical research, whether your starting point is an ancestor, a regiments, a campaign, or a medal. Unseful information relating to individuals presented with awards is contained in sources still available today., such as the First World War medal rolls which are the nearest we have to a full ‘roll-call’ for the Great War. Unlike other works that focus on medals identification, this guide shows you how to fully exploit the associated records, and to extend your research into sources such as the censuses and War Diaries.

Renaissance Medals

Renaissance Medals

$99.98

The National Gallery of Art houses the single most important collection of portrait medals in the United States. This two-volume catalogue examines in depth these holdings, comprising more than eight hundred medals. Providing detailed technical information-including the alloy composition of each medal-drawn from careful research, observation, and analysis, Renaissance Medals breaks new ground in the scholarly literature of the field. Included are objects from the Gallery’s Widener Collection, the Baskin Collection, and other recent acquisitions. Medals from the Gallery’s Samuel H. Kress Collection, previously published in a catalogue by G. F. Hill and J. Graham Pollard in 1967, are also examined. Volume 2 of Renaissance Medals documents the Gallery’s collection of German medals of the sixteenth century, French baroque medals, and smaller, though no less significant, groups of Netherlandish and English medals. Guillaume Dupre’s splendid gilded copper medal in the French group celebrates the second birthday of the heir, the future Louis XIII, son of Henri IV and Marie de’ Medici. The medal’s reverse depicts the king and queen in the guise of Roman deities Mars and Pallas Athena, with the child Louis holding the helmet of Mars and resting one foot on a dolphin. If a royal birthday was considered an occasion deserving a commemorative medal, so also was a battlefield victory. The impressive Waterloo Medallion, included in the English group, commemorates the final defeat of Napoleon. Pistrucci, the medal’s creator, conceived his work as a statement of the personal triumph of the rulers and commanders involved. Interested readers should also refer to Volume 1 of Renaissance Medals, which focuses on the Gallery’s superb collection of Italian Renaissance medals-unique in their quality, number, and diversity. Both landmark volumes will serve scholars and specialists of Renaissance art, as well as those who appreciate history and culture.

1875. This volume discusses gems, jewels, coins and medals of ancient and modern times. At almost all times, gem engravers have cut devices on precious stones so that in fact, as jewels are gems, not all gems are jewels. They are treated the same in this work. Billings writes about the history of coins and medals, some of which are found in archeological sites. The appendix is a translation by Mrs. Billings of the Autobiography of Benedetto Pistrucci.

This book of poetry was written as a result of many hours of conversations with Vietnam veterans at the Chicago Welcome Home Parade on June 13, 1986, and at several Vietnam veterans’ reunions held in Crawfordsville and Kokomo, Indiana over the last several years. For the reader who is not a veteran, I hope that these poems will give you a better understanding of the problems these veterans faced in the past and are still facing today. For the veteran who reads this book, I hope that my poems will somehow help you as you try to heal the emotional and physical scars caused by this war.. The following is an overview of the collections of poems in this book related to the Vietnam War. These Memories Will Last is a poem that describes how a solder felt on his way to Vietnam, his fears, his thoughts, his experiences and the impact they would have on his life in the future. All That I Can Give is a poem about the nurses in Vietnam and their dedication to nursing the many wounded soldiers in Vietnam. Missing You is a poem about a boy whose father was killed in Vietnam before his birth. The boy is missing his father and reflecting on how it could have been if his father were here with him today. Other topics covered in my war poems are Agent Orange, veteran suicide, the POW/MIA issue, and the Welcome Home Parade in Chicago, Illinois.
